  3.     I don't think your women readers have enough experience to
  4. make critical comments about the female caricatures painted on
  5. B-52 bombers (LETTERS, Jan. 2). As an aircraft maintenance
  6. specialist on B-52s, I have yet to see a half-naked woman on an
  7. aircraft, or any nose art, that is not in good taste. The
  8. picture on my plane shows the Statue of Liberty holding a bunch
  9. of roses in her hand. I do not view this as an "insulting
  10. caricature of the female gender."

  14.     I'm an ex-Army nurse who served in World War II. The Air
  15. Force personnel who painted their planes way back then said
  16. their illustrations brought them luck. The artists of today need
  17. that too. So please let them continue to paint in good health
  18. and peace.
